…it was a spectacular event! But first things first. Yesterday in the Tiburtina area, Rome, an important event has been organized, in which more than 1500 people partook. At the Studios gathered fans, cosplayers, some curious and most importantly development team representatives from Riot Games, software house developer of League of Legends, aka LoL.
The queue was rather long and tickets were already sold out for days, but those who didn’t manage to grab a ticket could see the event in streaming, thanks to Eurogamer.it, organizer of the event. Everybody was steamed, there were many who had put on the Teemo cap, given along with the “deluxe” ticket, others who played with the keychain and who fanned themselves with the downloadable contents envelope.
In the hall full of people, a stage with two impressive columns stood out, on top of which were two promotional posters with an image of Draven, iconic character from League of Legends, whose dubbing was recently renewed. After everybody had sit Michele Bertocchi and rioter ChaosMAO introduced the event, keeping us all entertained while preparations were made for the game to be played. They increased the hype, as was shown by the maxidisplay on which their Facebook page League of Legends – Italy gained 300 new fans within a few minutes. 5 people from the audience were chosen to form an improvised party who had to battle with Riot Games team. We were amazed by the team spirit gathered by the participants, who didn’t know each other at all and still were able to win the contest, thanks to the character of Thresh.
After a break, during which we could admire fabulous cosplayers and play the game on EPSON projectors made available by the staff, the event started again with cosplay contests and a challenge between inFerno eSports and Born Elite Humans. The latter, after an initial stalemate phase, won 2-0 the first League of Legends Italian Tournament.
Between 28 amazing cosplayers who exhibited high quality realization costumes, most of whom were part of “CLIC“, League of Legends Italian cosplayer community, character Wukong was awarded, followed by Varus and Ryze.
Entertainment, involvement and participation by the audience and a great attention for the League of Legends Italian Community from Riot Games are the keywords for this fantastic event.
